Privacy policy

What we collect

When you take the quiz, we collect:

• Quiz answers — your play frequency, court surface, foot type, injury history, and budget. These are stored anonymously (no account required) to generate your recommendations.
• Email address (optional) — only if you choose to enter it and check the consent box. Used to send your results and occasional shoe recommendations.
• Affiliate clicks — when you click a "Buy" link, we record which shoe and retailer were clicked. This helps us understand which recommendations are most useful. No personal information is attached to click data.

How we use it

• Generate personalized shoe recommendations
• Send you your results by email (if you opted in)
• Improve recommendation accuracy over time
• Aggregate analytics (e.g., "most common court surface") — never individual-level

We never sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for purposes unrelated to shoe recommendations.

Injury data

Question 4 asks about prior ankle or knee injuries. This information is used solely to recommend shoes with appropriate support and cushioning. You can select “Prefer not to say” to skip this question without affecting your other results. Injury data is stored with the same protections as all other quiz answers.

Court Shoe Advisor is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. Always consult your healthcare provider for injury-specific footwear guidance.

Third-party services

• Supabase — database hosting (quiz answers, click data)
• Resend — email delivery (only if you opt in)
• Anthropic Claude — AI chat advisor (conversations are not stored)
• Vercel — website hosting

Affiliate links go to Tennis Warehouse, Pickleball Warehouse, and Amazon. When you click a link, you leave Court Shoe Advisor and are subject to that retailer's privacy policy.

Your rights (California / CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we collect
• Request deletion of your data
• Opt out of data sales (we don't sell data)

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@courtshoeadvisor.com with your request. We will respond within 30 days.

Data retention

Quiz answers are retained indefinitely for recommendation improvement. Email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion. Affiliate click data is retained for 12 months.
